24h after #BTW17

24h after #BTW17
I never though this could really happen. Did I ignore the signs? In the 2017 federal election, the party German right-wing political party “Alternative für Deutschland” won 92 seats after receiving 12.6% of the national vote. During the first 24h after the election, I did not leave the house. I couldn’t. I simply was too shocked. In order to understand what was happening with me, I captured me feelings and emotions on monochrome film, developed it and printed the frames within 24h after #BTW

Hotel Lobby Pianist

Hotel Lobby Pianist
The Hotel Lobby Pianist is a friend of mine. Since years, he plays the piano and sings nearly every night for the hotel guests of the bests hotels in town. He is there but also not. Being ignored by most of the guests, he is the ghost at the keyboard. In the beginning of my career, I have been a professional musician too. For ten years I played the bass guitar to make my earnings, but I always had band colleagues.

La Serenissima

La Serenissima
Life in Venice differs greatly from other places in the world. One lives in this fantastic town, in the middle of the sea, like in a big piece of art. Every second there are new impressions, that make you drift besotted through the streets. It is like a dream. But as soon as the tourist stream carries you away, you awake from that dream and got hit by the bare reality: Venice is going to die!

Dioralop

Dioralop
Sometimes the machine refuses to work. You try brute force. In the end you freed it, but of course the result is not as desired. Then only a massage will help.

Elbphilharmonie

Elbphilharmonie
The concert hall “Elbphilharmonie” in Hamburg is an impressive building. Its trailblazing architecture attracts already, when you’re still miles away. But you’ll have to get very close and take your time to explore its small architectural details, in order to understand, that it’s these details, that create this concert hall from the inside out. The architectural essence of this concert hall can be found in every single piece, whether it’s a window, a stair case corner or the outer shell.

City-Hof

City-Hof
The City-Hof is a stain of shame. But the way it has been treated for years and how the city of Hamburg is bleeding the City-Hof dry, is also a shame. When it was built by the architect Klophaus, this building wasn’t ment to look like this: disfigured by gray eternit plates since decades. I’d really like to have a look behind those plates. They say, there’s a beautiful facade hidden.
